Our Teens "Real World"

They are called the "Mosaic" generation, an upbeat, optimistic generation unlike any that has come before them. They value relationships, diversity, and the need to get a quality education to secure their futures. They love life on the edge and crave the experience, the bigger the better. They loathe the ordinary.

But maybe most of all, they have chosen technology and mass media as their playground. TV, radio and the internet consume an average of nearly six hours of each of their days. But they are shockingly unaware the impact this mass media culture is having on their lives.

It is a culture where MTV proudly boasts that it is shaping the way an entire generation thinks, talks, dresses, and buys. They are shaping it with shameful sensuality and violence, and they are the ones most guilty of promoting what could be the most dangerous way of thinking in our world today, a new spirituality called relativism or post modernism.

It's in the world of relativism where absolute truth absolutely disappears. As Dr. James Dobson says, "Relativism is where nothing is right or wrong, nothing is good or evil·everything is just relative·all that matters is what's right for you or for me·Tolerance becomes god, endorsing anything and everything."

Now For Some Good News

Fortunately, in the middle of this chilling news, there is some very good news. According to the latest research by George Barna, this new generation of teens also has a surprisingly high interest in morality·70 percent want to live a life of integrity, almost as many seek a close relationship with God.

So how do we reach THIS side of these young people? Well, we plan to apply the lessons learned by the incredible success of Christian music·to reach out to this generation where they are·to present to them television THEY will find worth watching, exclusively designed for them·and yet with OUR message.

The show uses the real feelings and fears felt by the teenagers during each extreme adventure to illuminate the moral issue. Our hosts expertly weave these two facets of the show together ensuring intriguing outcomes.

Conclusion

In the end we hope to dramatically influence the lives of not only the Adventure Team, but also the audience of young viewers who are making these key decisions in their lives every day. It is designed to be a living, breathing show unlike anything on television today. It will be carefully planned and choreographed, but also set up for flexibility and spontaneity as it unfolds. We will have in place an entire think tank of some of the top youth leaders in the country helping mold the direction of the show on a daily basis. It's just plain going to be fun!
